This prestigious honours program in Biomedical Science allows high-achieving students to undertake advanced coursework and independent research, providing a pathway to higher-level research in the field.
Completion of all requirements for the award of the pass degree of Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University, or a comparable qualification in biomedical science. Monash students require an average of 70% or higher in at least 24 points at third-year level (including at least 12 points in biomedical science core units).
The course consists of a combination of coursework and research. In the coursework component you will develop advanced theoretical and/or technical knowledge of your area of focus within Biomedical Science. In the research component you will develop research methodologies appropriate to your focus and plan and execute a research project under the individual guidance of an academic supervisor.

The honours year provides a pathway to higher level research in biomedical science, and can lead to further postgraduate study such as a PhD.
