This diploma course is designed for those seeking higher levels of responsibility and leadership in an early childhood education and care setting. You will learn how to design and implement curriculum, foster holistic child development, and acquire the skills to manage a high-quality early learning environment.
Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Children's Services. You will also need to demonstrate at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia.
The course covers a range of core units including managing team effectiveness, maintaining a safe and healthy environment, fostering holistic learning and development, nurturing creativity, facilitating compliance, promoting positive interactions, implementing inclusion strategies, analyzing information to inform learning, planning and implementing curriculum, embedding environmental responsibility, and working in partnership with families. Elective units cover leading the work team, developing and implementing policy, and reflecting on and improving professional practice.
