Ageing Australia
2 hours
This two-hour interactive workshop teaches aged care leaders how to conduct courageous conversations and provide authentic feedback to build trust and high-performing teams. Designed for mid-level and front-line managers, it provides practical tools and frameworks for confident, transparent communication in the aged care sector.
This program is specifically designed for Level 2 and Level 3 leaders in the Australian Aged Care Leadership Capability Framework. Level 3 leaders are typically front-line or first-line managers responsible for team activities, such as care coordinators, service coordinators, registered nurses, or team managers. Level 2 leaders are mid-level managers responsible for multiple teams or entire services, such as directors of nursing, care managers, facility managers, or quality managers. Level 1 leaders may also find this a valuable refresher. Participants must access training on individual devices.
Module 4 focuses on confident conversations and courageous communication in leadership. The workshop covers the importance of open, transparent dialogue as a problem-solving resource and team-building tool. Key subjects include: confronting complex issues with confidence and skill, maintaining psychological safety while opening space for important conversations, enriching relationships through honest and respectful discussion, and using a simple framework for feedback conversations. Participants learn when to course-correct, when to coach, and when to celebrate success. The module also addresses stress management, using curiosity to adapt and find solutions, and maintaining perspective and wellbeing through creativity and humour.
