Combining trend forecasting, consumer insights, and sustainable practices with 60 hours of industry placement, you'll graduate job-ready for roles as a Fashion Buyer, Product Developer, or Visual Merchandiser.
Local students: Year 12 completion required with no ATAR score needed. Non-Year 12 applicants should have previous study, work, or life experience. International students must be at least 18 years old at course commencement, have completed a senior secondary school certificate equivalent to Australian Year 12, demonstrate English proficiency, and may be required to attend an interview. Collarts values diversity, individuality, and creative passion over standardized test scores.
The course is structured around four core areas: Fashion Buying (materials, making, product curation, finances, and merchandising strategies); Consumer Behaviour (consumer insights, e-commerce, user experience, and fashion consumption); Retail Management (visual merchandising, retail environments, retail disruptors, and fashion frontiers); and Industry Awareness (global fashion narratives, sustainable fashion business, ethical business management, and digital applications). Students learn industry-standard tools including Adobe Creative Suite, WGSN trend forecasting platform, Edited retail intelligence, Style Atlas product management, and CAD/PLM technology. The curriculum emphasizes sustainable practices, ethical standards, and real-world project work throughout.
