Applicants must have completed Queensland Year 12 or equivalent qualification. Prerequisites include General English (Units 3 & 4, C grade minimum) and Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C grade minimum). Minimum ATAR score of 97 or IB Rank 40.75 is required. International students must meet English language proficiency requirements (IELTS 6.5 overall or equivalent). Domestic students may access pathway options if entry requirements are not initially met.
The program combines computer science fundamentals with advanced data science specialization. Core computer science topics include computer-based systems creation, analysis, and design. The data science major covers comprehensive end-to-end data processing techniques, transforming raw data into actionable information. Students study advanced topics in computing, statistics, and mathematics, with flexible electives from business, finance, health, or science disciplines.
