Applicants must have completed Queensland Year 12 or equivalent qualification. Prerequisites include General English (Units 3 & 4, C grade minimum) and one of General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C grade minimum). The minimum ATAR entry score threshold is 84. International students must meet English language proficiency requirements (IELTS 6.5 overall or equivalent). Alternative pathways are available for those who don't meet standard entry requirements.
Core curriculum covers Human-Computer Interaction, Social and Mobile Computing, Programming in the Large, and Artificial Intelligence. Students choose from four major specializations: Software (database design and management systems), Information Systems (large-scale database design), Solution Architecture (scalable, secure IT solutions with cloud computing and generative AI), or User Experience Design (design skills, creativity, and prototyping). Electives include algorithms, computer systems, information security, and human-centred AI. The project-based studio stream integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application in real-world technology development.
