Our Opportunity

An exciting opportunity now exists within Lactalis for a Supplier Quality Management Officer based in Scoresby (VIC) or South Brisbane (QLD) to join our National Quality Assurance team. This role will report into the Quality Manager – Supplier and Co-manufacturers. The role will assist with the ongoing management of the Global Supplier Quality Management Program (SQMP) and Lactalis Food Import Compliance Program (FICA).

This role liaises with over 80 Ingredient, 30 Packaging, 30 Indirects and 15 co-manufacturing suppliers as well as Lactalis International sites importing goods into Australia and represents a real opportunity to make a difference through taking ownership of delivering a high and consistent level of food safety and quality goods and services to our customers and sites.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure compliance to all aspects of the Group Supplier Quality Management Program (SQMP) – ensure that all certifications, supplier information, raw materials risk assessments, Charters, Supplier Questionnaires are up to date. Assist in executing audit program – schedule, audits.
• Assist to drive improvements in our supplier base. Report on Quality Notifications (QNs), trends and attend supplier performance meetings. Co-ordinate supplier meetings where Quality issues arise.
• Review and maintain raw material specifications (PIF’s, SDS), packaging specifications and food contact declarations, migration certificates. Integrate site supplier information into central supplier system.
• Projects that require supplier documentation to be obtained, analysed and filed.
• Maintain co-packers specifications and relevant information. Process claims against co-manufacturers. Assist in regular product reviews against specifications.
• Assist in the management & upkeep of the Lactalis Food Import Agreement Program.
• Support Head Office audit and site audits relation to supplier information as required.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, sites and internal departments.

We need a proactive person who is willing and able to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. To ensure success in the role, the successful applicant requires the below toolkit:

• Tertiary qualification in Science/Food Science/Quality and/or at least 5 years relevant Supplier Quality management work experience.
• Lead Food Safety Auditor qualification desirable and auditing experience.
• Technical knowledge and experience in VACCP/TACCP
• Knowledge of certification standards preferable.
• Ability to effectively engage with suppliers
• Strong systems knowledge, particularly Excel & SAP
• Proactive nature with a passion for driving continuous improvement
• Strong Analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent presentation skills
